RamNode
Revamping a beloved brand and website for greater visibility.

In q2 2022, I was asked to reimagine the RamNode brand and website. As the Principal UX Designer, it was a pleasure and challenge to work on a brand that is beloved seemingly by everyone in the hosting space.
Challenge
The challenge was to redesign the RamNode website to appeal to a broader audience, including Development Directors, Team Leads, and software developers. This involved rebranding to convey reliability and responsibility and redesigning pages to include short and long-form written content for on-page optimization.

Solution
To meet the challenge, RamNode's iconic cross and nodes were simplified and flattened while maintaining the original mark. The homepage header was enlarged, precise product offerings were replaced with a 4-5 item product rostrum, and accompanying product pages were created for easier scanning by users and more space for keywords and phrases.

Approach
The AIDA model was applied to the product page, integrating marketing content while providing a clear information architecture and guiding users through the longer product pages. On-page and off-page optimization was needed, and the AIDA model was used to ensure an logical design.

Design Decision
The design system met RamNode's needs, including state color changes. The color scheme was adjusted to evoke energy, delight, and approachability. The Arial was chosen for the logo and website to appeal to users' cognitive biases and nostalgia, being older and more established than Ubuntu.
Result
The marketing team found the brand refresh modern, clean, and successful in all benchmarks. They were impressed with the AIDA-inspired product/home page design, expecting to attract new organic customers.
